mom used to always joke that one day she would be able to write a book of all the embarrassing moments she has.  we still laugh about the men's bathroom in NY.  and the orange juice debacle.  or the time she showed up at a baby shower thinking it was a bridal shower.

well, i too have followed in her footsteps of embarrassing moments.  we've always said, the blonde hair just runs in the family.  so, here's a good one to add to the book.
about a week ago i woke up in the night not feeling real well.  i knew that i had a prescription for an antibiotic and so i decided i should probably take one so that i'd hopefully start feeling better before school that day.  it was 3:30 am so i took my pill and promptly went back to bed.  [if you know me, you know i definitely like my sleep.]  when i woke up at 5:30 i was exhausted. like couldn't stand up-more tired than ever-can't open my eyes exhausted.  my ride came to pick me up and i slept the entire way to school. friday morning was basically faculty meeting and my head was bobbing the whole time.  derek had sent an extra pill for me to take but i knew that if they were making me that tired i shouldn't take it while there.  school was rough and i felt all over the place, and i slept halfway home again.
so i took my pill again right before bed, hoping i could just sleep it off.  i just kept thinking it was so weird an antibiotic would make me so tired.
saturday morning:  i was looking at my pill bottle and the date filled did not make sense.  i knew i had filled it almost a month before that date.  i kept thinking and thinking and thinking.
finally it dawned on me...
it was my muscle relaxants i had been taking.  the whole time.  the pill that i typically one took a third of because they make me sleep for a whole day. and i took 2. in 24 hours.
then it all added up-no wonder i was so tired.

note to self:  never take pills at 3:30 in the morning.  ever.
