a post about the weather.

this morning i woke up to snow.
no, not in my front yard, but high up on the mountains behind our house.
i think i must be in denial about what time of year it is.
in my mind it's still an endless summer, maybe with a little fall thrown in the mix.
but i find myself realizing it's october.  next week.
usually i'm counting down the days until i can finally display my halloween decorations.
this year i'm saying wait, wait, wait.
wondering how this came to be.
loosing track of the date every single day.
i'm not positive that i'm ready to embrace the boots and long sleeves.
or the fact that i'm either loosing my mind or time is traveling much quicker than usual.
but let's keep it real, please no snow until i've actually eased into this whole fall thing.
