joy and creativity.

JOY
a conference talk a day.
making the simple things really be the big things.
taking a cake decorating class.
good friends and lots of laughter.
getting all the laundry done, and trying new recipes.
walks in the evening.
pretty journals and barnes and noble.
going to the temple.
my perfect imperfect derek.

CREATIVITY
my inspirational quotes of the week.
[you've probably heard them before in my all-time favorite mormon message.]
also found in, "the remarkable soul of a woman" by president uchtdorf.

"the desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul.
no matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities,
we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.
everyone can create.
you might say, "i'm not the creative type."
if that is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are a spirit of the most creative Being in the universe.
think about it - your spirit body is a masterpiece, created with a beauty, function, and capacity beyond imagination.
don't let the voice of critics paralyze you.
start small.
creation is your opportunity in this life, and in the life to come."

creating fills me with joy.
take courage, create.

  2. that is my absolute favorite mormon message too. i can't ever get through it without crying and feeling so motivated. and that quote you shared is one of my favorite quotes as well (makes sense why i love the mormon message then, huh? ha :) i love how he goes into detail about all the different aspects of creation, whether it be creating a clean home or creating a loving environment for your family, in addition to the typical things we associate with "creativity".
