28 weeks.
like the other night i woke up at 4 to go to the bathroom. i couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to walk across the hall. i got back in bed and said, "i can't even wake up to go to the bathroom, how am i supposed to take care of a child?!"
i literally feel like i need a nap every day. probably because i wake up in the morning and more body parts hurt than when i fell asleep. will i ever sleep again?! ...because pretty much everyone is telling me no.
"next week is june. that means i'll have a baby in two months. i'm not ready for this."
baby is going to be a stubborn one like her mom. if she doesn't like where i'm resting my hands or the position i'm in, she's sure to tell me with those kicks. it's kind of hilarious.
i can't even think about actually giving birth. i can't tell you how many times i've repeated grandma walter's advice, "you just have to remember it doesn't last forever." i just have to remember that every human ever has been born. i got this.

Ashley! I love you and your blog and your pics and your comments and your freaking out. I hope the move goes well and can't wait to see little miss Texas in your family! I see your family pics and it makes me love the [too few] times we've been able to rendezvous and have fun together. You are collecting quite a contingency of family members in Texas!
ReplyDelete(p.s. Can you and Derek start drawling now, so she'll be able to grow up sayin' "fixin' to" and "all y'all"!!! solos
haha, dang autocorrect! solos=xoxo!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be great, Ashley! I remember trying to figure out a feeding schedule for Kate before she came and crying because there wasn't enough time for me to nap (ha!). But once the baby gets her nights/days figured out you'll actually get some energy back! Growing a baby is exhausting and I napped more BEFORE baby than after (after the first 8 or so weeks at least).
ReplyDeleteAre you planning a natural birth? I got an epidural and I slept through most of my labor. Piece of cake! Love you!!
Yay! Your having a baby. Congrats! Best thing that will ever happen to you. Well, maybe not the actual act of having the baby, but the part that includes raising said baby and being a mommy. Most days it's pretty dang fun. It was fun to catch up on your growing little families life.... I've missed my blogging friends. Thanks for welcoming me back.
