we decided that since we are so close to the grand canyon [and i'd never seen it], it would be a great weekend getaway. we drove up friday night after work and spent the night in flagstaff. i was thrilled to see trees, and green, and mountains. oh, and it was only 75 degrees. amazing.
we stayed on historic route 66, which was pretty neat.
the only bummer, none of the hotel reviews mentioned the fact that we were across the street from the train....that came every 20 minutes all night. the funniest part of the whole trip was at 4:30 a.m. we both rolled over (after not sleeping much at all) and just started laughing hysterically. i kept saying i wanted to go camping, so i guess i got my wish after all.
grand canyon:
the next morning we headed off to see the grand canyon. it was amazing. [i don't even know how else to describe it.] we spent the day in the park and my mind was blown every time i looked around.
a grand day, indeed.
we love every minute of being adventurers.
[and i got to check off another 25 before 25.]
