chicago thanksgiving.

 

for thanksgiving we headed out to chicago to visit derek's dad in chicago.  we have had quite the trip - more food than though possible, sight seeing in the city, and games galore.
the first day here we ate at portillos, famous for their hot dogs.  and for dinner was giordanos pizza, deep dish stuffed with a ridiculous amount of cheese pizza.  we also played a bazillion rounds of sequence.
thursday was thanksgiving day.  a day spent in the kitchen.  i made pie and rolls.  everything turned out to be a great success.  i went to bed stuffed to the brim.  [again.]
friday we did a little black friday shopping and then headed into the city.  the chicago skyline is breathtaking.  [and not because the temperature maxed out at 20 degrees.]  after a long walk, that starbucks caramel apple cider was so worth it.
it's been a great break spent with family, sleeping in, eating a whole lot, giving thanks, sight seeing, and relaxing.
