while teaching 2nd graders...

when teaching 2nd graders this past week i was asked to teach the life cycle of a chicken.
now let me tell you all the questions and comments i got while discussing said topic.

girl:  "how does the rooster fertilize the egg?  why does it have to be fertilized?
boy:  "you know, it's kind of like how we all need to have a mom and a dad."
other girl:  "but where does the egg come out?"
another girl:  "why are there eggs inside their bodies?"
different girl:  "well, all girls have eggs inside their bodies."
boy:  "eww.  girls don't have eggs inside their bodies."

you tell me how you refrain from laughing.

teacher:  "moving right along...."
