in comes november.

as i woke up this morning and looked at my phone to see "november 1", my heart made a sigh of relief.
this means one more month of student teaching.
one more month until i've graduated from college.
time to put away the halloween decor and prepare for the holidays ahead.
thinking about giving to others. and the crafting to go with that.
afternoons when you come home and sit under a blanket and read away.
when people think more about what they really are grateful for.
that little bit of time that slows down just for a minute before things pick back up again for christmas.
november means family time.
to some it represents "no shave." [addison if he weren't a missionary.]
it is another birthday for mom.
and days off of school for us students. and teachers.

november, we welcome you here.

  2. Hi Ashley,

Your mother-in-law/my sister-in-law Karen sent your blog link. So fun!! Just like you and Derek : ) And I happen by when you are on an internet hiatus. Hope all goes weith with school...and school... and Christmas. We just had a great time with family at the cabin in Idaho. We lived in Utah so long, it's sad that we aren't there to get to know the two of you better. So glad we were able to be at your wedding. Because we are far away from our fam (far off in the land of Oregon...where you guys should road trip to sometime!), I started blogging in 2008 to unite our [then] four sons in four states. It's not 'cutting edge/political/up-to-the minute, clever or anything else. I just wanted to use it connect and as a motivation to scan old pictures [THEN] from pre-digital days. Yeah, basically a family scrapbook. But if you are intestested, feel free to peruse http://everynowthen.blogspot.com.

    Love,
Derek's cousin Scott's wife Dulsanna (aka Aunt Dee : )

p.s. Give Derek a hug from us!! Sometime I'll have to post cute pics of he and Erik having fun together in Juneau.
