funny moments.
derek and i flew in a day before my parents did. when we got there derek remembered his all-time favorite thing. the fart machine. being the funny and mature people we are, we set it up in the room my parents would be staying in. and then we went to our room with the remote to test the distance. it worked great. then we waited.
everyone was getting ready for bed. derek asked "is it time?" [or maybe i asked that because i was so antsy to get on with our pranking.] we decided it was now or never. so we clicked the remote. and started giggling. like crazy. next thing we know derek's dad came in to hear why we were laughing so hard. we told him and he told us to push it again so he could see if he could hear it. uncontrollable giggling by this point. my parents walk out laughing hysterically too.
dad said, "it was perfect. mom was in the closet and i was across the room. we both heard it. mom said, 'excuse you! maybe you should go in the bathroom.' and i said 'it wasn't me, that was definitely you.' then they looked at each other and realized that their room bordered the bathroom. mom said, 'shhh...maybe it's someone in the bathroom.'' then they heard it again. and put it all together.
we laughed pretty hard.
embarrassing comments.
due to the unbearable heat in TX it's more common to find people have air conditioned seats in their car. this is something i had never experienced before. it blew my mind. so i said, "wow! this is so cool! it's like air coming out my bum! .... oh my gosh. that's not what i meant." you better believe i didn't hear the end of that one, well, for the entire trip.
the arboretum.
on our last day with mom and dad we all decided to go to the dallas arboretum to see the chihuly exhibit. he does the most incredible glass blowing. the only problem...it was 108 degrees and only lasted about 20 minutes briskly walking from one to the next to get back to the car AC. luckily, we snapped a few pictures along the way.
they also have resturants called "whataburger".
we woke up every morning to derek's dad blasting the oldies.
[i was only grumpy about it once.]
and we checked a bag to bring back derek's entire hot wheels collection.
and that pretty much wraps up our dallas experience.

what about the moment in the arboretum when derek asked, "will you move to texas with me some day?" and you said, "not a good time to ask!". that cracked me up!!
